This bench was designed and fabricated over the course of 3 weeks as a structural and packing investigation that marked the very beginning of my interests in accessibility and design. In this case the task was simply to build something of intrigue however in lue of IKEA’s generally lack luster quality and affinity for screws and dowels I attempted to design a flat packageable bench, that was easily assemblable, shippable, and manufacturable by using a repeating contour to produce 5 distinct parts with a variety of notches for assembly. As one walks past the color shifts creating a more dynamic piece and it allows for the storing of bags safely between itself and a wall.
